The Baxter Springs Heritage Center & Museum, functioning under the Baxter Springs Historical Society, is dedicated to preserving and interpreting the rich regional history of Baxter Springs, Kansas, through interpretive exhibits and an archival research facility. These efforts result in the promotion and education of the area to an international audience.
The Heritage Center & Museum is a 20,000 square foot, climate controlled facility housing exhibits on:
- Quantrill's Battle & Massacre
- World War I & World War II
- 1930's Brick Street with Shops
- Tri-State Mining District
